Jim Ferris Chief Executive Officer
Jim has 35+ years of senior management experience in both private and nonprofit organizations with extensive knowledge in real estate development, capital markets, and affordable housing finance. As the CEO of NeighborWorks Capital since 2007, he has overall responsibility for implementing the strategic plan and raising capital. He is implementing NC's third Strategic Plan for benefit of NeighborWorks America affiliates with a goal of doubling its lending impact to $700 million and doubling capital to $250 million by 2023.
Jim previously served as Senior Director, National Initiatives at Fannie Mae Foundation overseeing strategies for supporting nonprofit affordable housing preservation. He has held the position of Executive Director of Bellwether Housing in Seattle and Codman Square Neighborhood Development in Boston. Earlier in his career he held accounting and finance positions with private real estate developers and institutional real estate investors.
He has a Bachelors Degree is Accounting and Finance from Western New England University. He participates in various industry advisory committees focused on affordable housing finance and lending and serves as Chair of the board of Neighborhood Risk Management Corporation, a property and liability insurance program for NeighborWorks affiliates and Board Director of Coalition Homes, an affiliate of Montgomery County Coalition for the Homeless.
