Introducing Leila Lucas, our new Loan Closer

We are excited to introduce Leila Lucas, our newest member of the NeighborWorks Capital team. Leila will be assisting the lending team and borrowers on closing loans.

Before coming to NeighborWorks Capital, Leila spent six years at New Day USA, where she started in underwriting VA loans and finished as an assistant vice president, working mainly with investors. Prior to that, she worked at nonprofits in both Virginia and Philly. She says she is excited to be at a nonprofit again. “I really like NeighborWorks Capital’s mission statement and the affordable housing aspect,” she said. “I like that we’re giving back to the community. I also like working on a small team.”

Outside of work, Leila loves to travel. “The best place I’ve been to was Thailand, on my honeymoon,” she says. “But I also love day trips and national parks.” She is also an avid runner, having completed six marathons. “Running keeps me happy,” she said.

After growing up in northern Virginia, Leila lived in Philadelphia, Seattle, and Baltimore before settling back in the DC area with her husband and two dogs—a pug and a frenchton.

Welcome Leila! Leila will be at the Cleveland NTI and looks forward to meeting some of you there!
