We are pleased to welcome Ben Greenberg back to NeighborWorks Capital as our Chief Lending and Customer Engagement Officer. Ben began his career with us and now returns with more than two decades of experience in community development finance, bringing deep expertise, innovation, and leadership.

In this role, Ben will lead our lending operations and customer engagement strategy across all capital solutions, overseeing the Lending team and guiding the development and delivery of our loan products. He will ensure that all customer-facing efforts are strategic, integrated, and responsive to the evolving needs of the NeighborWorks network. As a member of our leadership team, Ben will also help shape NeighborWorks Capital’s broader engagement strategy. He will strengthen partnerships across the CDFI sector, design financial products that respond to emerging market needs, and support the delivery of impactful, responsible capital to the communities we serve.

“Ben shares our belief that flexible, mission-aligned capital can be a catalyst for transformative community development. His deep experience and track record of innovation make him uniquely qualified to lead this next chapter of our work. As we expand our offerings and deepen our relationships across the NeighborWorks network, Ben’s leadership will ensure we remain responsive to our partners’ evolving needs by connecting financial, human, and intellectual capital to drive lasting impact in the communities we serve,” said Jim Peffley, Chief Executive Officer of NeighborWorks Capital.

Prior to rejoining NeighborWorks Capital, Ben served as Vice President of Lending at Housing Partnership Network/Fund, where he led credit and origination strategies and drove portfolio growth by more than 680%. He also previously served as Director of Lending at Community Housing Capital, where he managed a national portfolio of products, including enterprise lines of credit, construction and rehabilitation financing, acquisition and development loans, and permanent multifamily lending.

Ben holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, with a focus on nonprofit and government accounting, and a Certificate in Urban Real Estate Development and Finance from Cleveland State University’s Levin College of Urban Studies.
