We are pleased to announce that Laura Altomare has joined the NeighborWorks Capital leadership team as the organization’s first Chief Growth Officer. Laura has over 25 years of experience in the financial services sector, including nonprofit Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) leadership and for-profit banking, investment management, and mortgage lending.
Laura brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our organization, including her time as President of Homewise, a nonprofit CDFI and NeighborWorks organization with a mission to create successful homeowners and strengthen disinvested neighborhoods. Laura led the organization in the areas of strategic planning, internal and external communications, resource development and investor relationships, human resources and staff development. Her experience leading a NeighborWorks organization is an invaluable asset to our senior leadership team.
As Chief Growth Officer for NeighborWorks Capital, Laura will be a collaborative member of the senior leadership team, responsible for leading our strategic growth and implementation, resource development, marketing and communications, and human resources initiatives. Through her work, she will focus on initiatives that bring additional value to members of the NeighborWorks network.
Before joining NeighborWorks Capital, Laura provided consulting to nonprofits and emerging startups in the areas of strategic communications, operational effectiveness, capacity building, and capital raising. Prior to that, she served as the President of Homewise.
Laura earned a B.A. in English Literature from Colorado State University and holds a Certificate in Fund Raising Management (CFRM) from the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy.
We are thrilled to have Laura on board and look forward to her leadership in driving our growth and advancing our mission to bring financial, human, and intellectual capital at scale to under-resourced and marginalized communities and support NeighborWorks organizations to grow their work and impact.
