NeighborWorks Capital is pleased to announce that, after an extensive national search, the Board of Directors unanimously selected James Peffley as its next CEO. Peffley brings a deep understanding of the importance of affordable housing and an extensive background in finance to the role after decades of senior leadership at Cinnaire, Fannie Mae, and the Delaware State Housing Authority.

Peffley brings to NeighborWorks Capital experience in all facets of affordable housing and community development lending, capital markets and tax credit syndication. Peffley will start on September 12th and succeeds NeighborWorks Capital’s CEO Jim Ferris, who is retiring.

NeighborWorks Capital Board Chair Jeanne Pinado said, “The Board was deeply impressed with Jim Peffley’s vision for the organization, ideas about how to build on our excellent track record, and commitment to deepening our impact and as a key source of capital, technical expertise, and partnership with NeighborWorks Organizations.  He laid out a vision for working with the Board and staff to deepen our work on diversity, equity, and inclusion. The Board would like to thank our outgoing CEO Jim Ferris for building an excellent team and leaving NeighborWorks Capital in a strong financial position, including our best capital raising year in the organization’s 22-year history.”

Peffley said “I have always been deeply impressed with the performance and commitment to mission and growth evidenced in organizations that make up the NeighborWorks networks. I have worked with many NeighborWorks affiliates during my career, and they represent the best of our industry. I look forward to listening and partnering with them to identify innovative capital that helps them make their communities stronger.”
