NeighborWorks Capital is pleased to extend a $1,000,000 permanent loan to Mutual Housing California for Mutual on the Boulevard, a newly constructed 127-unit affordable multifamily project in Sacramento, CA.
Mutual on the Boulevard was completed in 2023 and provides housing for families at 30% to 60% of the Area Median Income. The community includes 1-, 2-, and 3-bedroom apartment homes with additional features including a large community room, laundry facilities, playground, community garden, Chromebook lending library, and more.
Mutual Housing California develops, operates and advocates for sustainable housing that builds strong communities through resident participation and leadership development. They were formed as a partnership of neighborhood residents, business representatives, housing advocates, and local government dedicated to improving housing opportunities for lower income families in the greater Sacramento area. They also provide wrap around services for residents including afterschool homework and enrichment, eat, read, and play summer lunch & learning programs, financial education, car share program, green leaders programs, and food distribution at several of their properties.
This is the third loan NeighborWorks Capital has extended to Mutual Housing California, and we are thrilled to continue in our partnership to advance their mission to develop, manage, and support sustainable affordable housing where residents are partners in advancing equitable communities.
