Industry Leaders Come Together to Ensure Greenhouse Gas Reduction Funds (GGRF) Reach Underinvested Communities

The NeighborWorks Capital Green Advisory Board is comprised of some of the most knowledgeable and influential leaders in the industry, who are joining together to ensure that GGRF funding reaches low-income, disadvantaged, rural, and Native communities across the country.

The Climate United Collaborative was awarded $6.97 billion under the National Clean Investment Fund as part of GGRF and is led by Calvert Impact Capital, Community Preservation Corporation, and Self Help. The coalition is a collaboration of experienced, mission-driven lenders and investors dedicated to bringing accessible clean energy solutions to Justice40 communities across the country.

As a member of Climate United, NeighborWorks Capital’s role is both as an individual lender and a national market-building partner to ensure GGRF resources reach all communities. The NeighborWorks Capital Green Advisory Board will guide NeighborWorks Capital’s role as the CDFI multifamily channel market-building lead and green development lender by seeking to increase the NeighborWorks Capital’s reach beyond its traditional customers and stakeholders, retain executive-level advice regarding CDFI and green lending, and engage industry leaders in its work.

The GGRF presents a generational opportunity to mobilize financing and private capital to address the climate crisis with a specific focus on communities that have been historically left behind. An important focus of the NeighborWorks Capital Green Advisory Board will center ideas and action to support GGRF funding into the most underinvested communities, which are at high risk of being overlooked, through education, outreach, and resourcing.
