We are pleased to announce that Jarrod Brennet has joined our NeighborWorks Capital team to lead portfolio management operations. As Director of Portfolio Management, Jarrod oversees the team managing loans after closing, tracks and reports performance, engages our NeighborWorks organization partners, and provides reporting to the Loan Committee. Jarrod previously served as a member of NeighborWorks Capital’s Portfolio Management team, addressing loans that encountered challenges during the onset of COVID while working directly with customers and partners to develop long-term solutions. We are thrilled to welcome him back to the organization.
“Jarrod brings a wealth of expertise in affordable housing development and portfolio management, and his experience working with NeighborWorks organizations will be an invaluable asset to our growing organization,” said Beth O’Leary, Chief Risk Officer for NeighborWorks Capital.
Jarrod was most recently Chief Housing Development Officer for So Others Might Eat (SOME), a Washington, DC homeless services and affordable housing provider. Jarrod and his team managed the rehabilitation of SOME’s affordable housing portfolio, including the redevelopment of their historic Dining Room and Community Resource Center, which provides meals and services for the City’s homeless community. Jarrod also served as SOME’s Housing Development Project Manager for seven years.
Jarrod’s development experience in DC contributed to his appreciation for the critical role that local governments and funders play in affordable housing and community development, which he brought to his work with our customers across the country.
“I’m thrilled to return to NeighborWorks Capital and continue working with and learning from the incredible organizations we partner with,” said Jarrod Brennet. “I know from firsthand experience that the current landscape presents significant challenges in developing and managing affordable housing, and our customers are facing these tasks head-on. Along with the rest of the NeighborWorks Capital team, I’m inspired by the stories we hear from our partners. I’m dedicated to advancing our shared missions, doing everything I can to help them reach their goals and improve their communities.”
Jarrod has an MA in Community Development and Planning and BA in Sociology with a concentration in Urban Development and Social Change, both from Clark University.
