NeighborWorks Capital is pleased to announce that Nancy Wagner-Hislip will join our team on October 2nd to lead NeighborWorks Capital Consulting. This new business line within NeighborWorks Capital will support members of NeighborWorks America and other nonprofits in expanding their overall impact and their focus on racial and economic justice by connecting them with national consulting talent to supplement their existing resources.

Nancy brings to this role more than 30 years of community development experience, including a long tenure at Reinvestment Fund where she most recently served as its Chief Investment Officer. Nancy managed a $700 million loan and investment portfolio and drove annual originations in excess of $200 million. In this role, she was responsible for all aspects of the lending business, including business planning, new business development, loan origination, asset management, lending enterprise risk management, and capitalization.

“I am excited to welcome Nancy to the NeighborWorks Capital team and look forward to working with her to build this important new business,” said Jim Peffley, NeighborWorks Capital’s Chief Executive Officer.  “I have admired Nancy’s leadership in the industry for many years, and the NeighborWorks Capital team feels fortunate to be able to work with her to strengthen members of the NeighborWorks network and other nonprofits. In addition to strengthening and supporting nonprofit organizations, we will work to expand the diversity of the consulting base serving our industry,” he said.

Nancy is a recognized expert in community development finance with deep knowledge of major federal financing and subsidy programs, tax-incentivized financing instruments, and complex capital structures. She also has a deep connection to affordable housing, having served on several national and local boards of organizations dedicated to providing affordable housing. In this new role as Chief of Consulting, Nancy will be responsible for providing direct advisory and consulting services to members and managing additional third-party consultants who will provide services.
